Penelope and Parker in January

Where did January go?  It’s the 7th February when I am writing this and we are already rattling towards March!  Time does go quicker as we get older!!  This is the first  month in a year when I haven’t taken a photo every day of the month – oh what a release it is not to still be doing ‘Project 365‘!  I would recommend it to anyone to do, once! However this year I’m going to only take photos when I want to and I’m going to share just the best (no more cups of tea!).

So here is January on Flipagram! (Cool new discovery!)

January was a mixed month – but one in which we booked plenty of things to look forward to! So the rest of the year is looking up! Slow and quiet months are necessary from time to time!

Incredibly this is the 2nd month of no flights whatsoever! Much as I love the buzz of a big trip and some long haul snoozing, I begrudge it too, so I haven’t missed it!!

We did a lot of weekend walks in January! It is a busy month at work and so weekend fresh air and Parker-time is a must!  And the New Forest and the South Downs deliver it in spade loads!  It is one of the best times of the year to be up with the larks as so few other people are! Quite magnificent and good for the soul!

This year instead of Project 365 I am doing ‘Take 12 Trips‘ – I think it’s a win, win really!  I have a regular ‘thing’ and I have to go somewhere at least once a month for a year!  To kick of the year we had a lovely wintry getaway in Cambridgeshire at The Crown Inn – which is just lovely – rustic and luxury, a UK mini-break can’t be much better!

The weekend only got better – my blogging friend Kelly pulled out the stops and arranged tea for 25 at Brown’s and what fun we had.  Community and support is one of the highlights I’ve been most impressed of with blogging – it was lovely to meet the ladies!  Not many people would go to lunch with 24 people they’ve never met before, but tell you what – I’m very glad I did!!

Sounds like a rather delicious January to me – and you’re spot on with time seeming to speed up!
