Penelope and Parker in February

February has flown by at a terrifying speed… click here for the full flipagram of the best bits (needs a little time to load – the…)

Countless times this month I have thought spring was here, and then the next day we’ve had hail or snow!  But sat here in early March the evenings are lighter, as are the mornings, the birds are singing and the bulbs are definitely flowering!  I love daffodils – I have a few bunches in the house and happily there are signs of life with my own daffodils in the garden too!

February is Mr P’s birthday month! Last year were were in the desert in luxury so this year his treats had to live up to that, whilst being fitted into a working week!  What better than Michelin star dining just 20minutes from home? We had an extravagant yet homely supper in Winchester at the Black Rat, fantastic and so kind at catering for allergies!  Just to get some balance, the night before we’d been bumper car driving under County Hall in London, now I don’t know about you, but I didn’t know about such a hidden gem of a night out!

In amongst the snow, February was a gorgeous month (hence my choice of music for my flipagram) and we had some gorgeous walks in the country – over in Dorset…

And then along the Lymington sea wall, where as expected we stumbled across old friends!

The end of the month marked the real highlight – and some retail therapy from Christmas!  A long weekend in Paris just before my birthday! I’ll write more soon – about some of the sights we saw as well as the stunning accommodation I found (Eliel.fr).  But one of my aims was to see the Eiffel Tower at night when it is at its best – and didn’t she look stunning!  Our trip to Paris marked the 2nd of our monthly #take12trips and was a lovely break away together at the end of a busy few months!

Quite incredibly my third month with no flights – I like the extra time I’m getting at home!  That said a trip to Hyderabad is fast approaching now…

No, I had no idea there were dodgems under County Hall!

Loved your Flipagram by the way – not used it yet mysefk but I must gift it a whirl. Particularly love the shot of a few people walking down a country lane – lovely image.

It was great to find something a little different (and inexpensive) on the south bank!! Thankyou!

I guess it was always going to be a tall order to match last year’s Arabian adventure! In fact, I can hardly believe that was a year ago already… it feels like only a few months ago that you were telling us all about that trip. How time flies when you’re having fun! 🙂

The sign off a good trip when the memories are so fresh! Haven’t been long haul for any reason apart from work since then, never as much fun (especially a day trip to the US!)

I didn’t know about the dodgems under County Hall either and my boyfriend works right by there, doh! Sounds like you’ve had a very eventful month, and I’m completely with you on the lack of flights. I’m taking my first flight of the year this weekend, but it’s been wonderful to explore closer to home at (what feels like…) a more leisurely pace!

Sounds like we will all be going to the dodgems of quirky nights out in future! We’re UK based for March and April as well and looking forward to the leisurely pace, but enjoy your trip away Emily!
