January fun and frolics

January fun and frolics with Penelope and ParkerJanuary for its dryness was very wet indeed.  That’s wet from the sky not a bottle.

And at the weekend too

I decided to do my first dry January and apart from a glass of red wine at 2am on 1st January as something of a night cap, I’ve had a lovely month of fruit juice and soda water, with the occasional Becks Blue to liven things up.  I have to say, a month of this has definitely given me some really good sleep and I’m sure I’ve achieved more at weekends too!

As all months do, it rattled by.  Lots of trips to London, with a very different commuting view every time.

I took the long route back to the station for some extra fresh air

Left the office too late to get the sun right in the middle of the wheel

Freezing, but this could be a summer sunset

At weekends we didn’t achieve as much as we planned because of the weather but when we did get outside it was good to enjoy the fresh air as a break from chores and admin that so often fill up January!

I hauled these two out of the house on the last day of the holidays with a promise of sunshine… Thank goodness it appeared!

And then we got a gorgeous sunset over the Solent, a good way to end the Christmas holidays

The first achievement of the month however was to get some sunshine booked – later in February we are going to try out what Tenerife has to offer.  Very much looking forward to staying at the Gran Melia, specifically their adults only Red Level.  We’re also booked in to climb to the top of the volcano which will be a first!

I also had a bit of fun summer-dreaming.  On here I did my first collaboration post on ‘wish I was in…’ – it was great to link up with some of my friends and find some new faces in the blogosphere too.  The daffodils and snow drops are popping up everywhere, it really does feel like spring is just around the corner, here’s hoping!

If it hadn’t have been for photographic evidence of sunshine in January it would be easy to believe it rained non stop…!!

Thanks Angie – Gran Melia seems to have quite a young but chilled vibe from what I can see, looking forward to finding out! xx
