Flashback Friday Travel Photo Memories 20 – Paris

Paris is always a good idea!  And as luck would have it we are back there next month – I cannot wait!  It’s just a long weekend, and it is bound to be chilly – but there isn’t much better than time away with my husband seeing the city – we’ll be wrapped up in our winter coats, gloves, comfortable shoes and will of course make regular champagne stops along our wanderings!

Last time we went was in 2009, a mini-break before our spring wedding the following year. It was my first time in Paris – quite amazing how I got so far in life without a trip to Paris!  Well – in a long weekend we covered and lot of ground, but left ourselves with a taste of more!

All the detail I have written about before.  I’ve been having a little peruse since we’ve booked our tickets for the next trip to make sure I have a good list of ideas for us to cover on our upcoming trip – slowly being compiled over on Pinterest!  What have I missed?

Paris – September 2009

Favourites from our previous trip were plentiful – in particular:

  • heading up to Montmartre in the evening – it is stunning at sunset and the view over the city is gorgeous.  There are some lovely tourist-free restaurants if you look hard enough and can speak/read french!
  • Sitting in the sun in the Jardin des Tuilleries
  • Rowing around the lake at Versailles with a picnic

Most expensive moment – spotting a gorgeous watch being warn by an elegant French lady. Investigating said watch – ah, it’s Hermes.  Mr P took note and I adore it – what an amazing 30th birthday present he bought me!

I had always planned to upload this post today, it is particularly poignant with the devastating events of the week.  Very much looking forward to returning in February and supporting the city.
