Favourite places

I personally think that the hallmark of a good holiday is the wish to return to the same place, or to look for something similar in a new location hence reinventing something that you know is really good! I’m always happy if on the drive or flight home i’m trying to work out when I can return, or what aspect of a trip I need to retain for future trips!!  Here are some of my favourites, I’ve included links to…

When in Rome with Hilton…

In the past month I’ve had the need to stay in 3 of the 4 Hilton hotels in Rome!  I could have been braver and used another hotel group, but there is something to be said for brand loyalty to keep up a tier rating!!  It isn’t usual to stay in so many hotels of the same chain in one place, so it has actually given me some useful insight into the pro’s and con’s of the wider brand!! So… a tale of 3…

Working on a saturday

It’s a Saturday, it’s winter and I’m working.  My feet are cold because I haven’t moved from my desk for far too long and it’s too early for a glass of wine if I want to get through the work I’ve still got on my to do list for today!! So my mind is of course wandering!! However, the daily telegraph has thankfully confirmed that I do have the best job in the world, so that is something to be pleased about:…

The travel wishlist that keeps on growing!!!

We use Evernote to make lists about all sorts! But the best list is the list of places we want to travel to in the future! We’ve been lucky enough to visit and stay at places we’d always been interested in.  One of those locations was South Africa which was always somewhere that seemed so far away, but we’ve had 2 amazing holidays there (1 was our honeymoon) and my husband has been there with work near on 20 times!!  Another…

Jamaica in pictures

A stunning time in Jamaica this April, in pictures And now to to put the words to the pictures…. BA fly from Gatwick to the Caribbean.  We’ve avoided Gatwick for years, T5 has become a bit of a safe haven and is 20mins from my parents house.  However we were pleasantly surprised with Gatwick.  Best bit – fast track security – it was really quick despite the airport being busy.  The lounge was also the standard offering, it was however…

Cornwall in the Autumn

See more of Cornwall at my flickr I’ve written about my love of Cornwall before, much of it related to my own mining heritage and exploring the county with my husband rather than just for short family visits to see my grandparents.  This October we stayed at Umber, BoHo Cornwall – a 1 bed self catering apartment on the outskirts of St Just, minutes from the views of Cape Cornwall and in an area littered with beautiful views and beautiful…
