My top 10 travel highlights of 2016

What a year 2016 has been globally.  My top 10 highlights may well sound frivolous and privileged in a year when the world has been full of sadness, unrest and nasty surprises.  But they made us smile, laugh and relax after some challenging years. Its been good for the soul.  I’m amazed we fitted in 6 overseas trips in a year when work has been rewarding, but non-stop. Yachting adventures in the Canaries

Mr P did some vital yachting holiday research for us in October… Too kind!  I was manic with work and made a passing comment suggesting he go away with his best buddy somewhere nice and leave me in peace.  I didn’t ever expect the offer to be taken up.  But it’s OK as it was all in the name of research, for when next year they will take us girls with them too!  So his arm was twisted into writing this guest post…

In search of sunshine – Tenerife

Normally in January we book something long haul and outrageous but this year we didn’t quite get around to it!  In early Feb we worked out we could squeeze in 3 days leave and so get away for 5 days adding the weekend.  We needed sun, a short flight and safety… The Canary Islands popped into view and there began my internet trawl to find a quiet corner.  Easier said than done, although once I worked out where the busy upscale resorts were life…
